THE GREATEST PRETENDER

I hear a song, I imagine much more; I see myself with a star on the door. I hear the fans now, they're screaming my name; I feel the thrill of the glory of fame! And I'm the star, I'm a hero; I'm in charge, I'm running the show! By in large, I am the greatest... The greatest pretender you know. I watch the game I go drifting away; Out on the field I hear the quarterback say; ""You must go long, it's a critical play."" A diving catch, again I'm saving the day! And I'm the star, I'm a hero; I'm in charge, I'm running the show! By in large, I am the greatest... The greatest pretender you know. I look so sharp in all of my clothes; I turn my Chevy right into a Rolls! Oh, I'm so happy, yes I feel fine; Just don't remind me that it's all in my mind That I'm a star, I'm a hero; I'm in charge, I'm running the show! By in large, I am the greatest... The greatest pretender you know.
