THY JUSTICE STANDS DEMANDED

Dear God, I seek assurance, For I have come to see That justice seldom comes to man In this mortality. I've witnessed villains prosper, I've watched as angels died; I've sought in prayer for things thought good To find myself denied. Thy will is most elusive To one who seeks to know Why, if Thou art just and true, Unfairness reigns below. How can it be that justice Could stand apart, alone; The one thing in Thy kingdom Unbalanced on it's own? In chemistry, astronomy, And biology we find Every action countered by Some plan Thy hand designed. Velocity and gravity Combine to balance out The orbits of the planets Defined in perfect route. From galaxies to microbes We see the Master's hand That levels every scale that's hung; Why not the deeds of man? Thy judgment stands demanded By tears of the oppressed, By laughter from the wicked Who mock the hands that bless. Consistent with Thy pattern, A judgment day MUST come; When all mankind will reckon with The good and bad they've done. And so life's lack of fairness, That spurs religious doubt, Is only proof we'll live again, For all must balance out.
