He stands up to speak

To give us the word,

With scriptures and stories

I've already heard.

He speaks of the truth

And the knowledge of years,

But speaks it so dryly

It bores me to tears!

So I stare at the wall

And I slouch in my seat;

I count all the bricks

And shuffle my feet.

A quick quiet voice

Speaks in my head,

And these are the words

I think that it said:

""Why are you staying?

Why don't you leave?

You came here to get it,

So why not receive?

The speaker's not polished,

He's scared as can be;

But hear with the Spirit

And this you will see...

Although he is not

An eloquent man,

He's helping your soul

While hurting your can!
