""Once upon a time"", he said, Kids hushed as they could be, An older child on each arm, A young one on each knee. His magical story entered their ears, Then slowly pumped open their eyes; The fact that they all had heard it before Failed, somehow, to ruin the surprise. It makes a man wonder; is the story they heard The cause of the children's delight? Is the story the feature they each will retain In their memory of that night? Or could it be someone who gathered them close In the few extra moments he had, And provided a feeling they'll always recall When they were once upon a Dad.
